The Nutcracker
Welcome to the “Nutcracker” corner of my website!
My professional art journey started with cut paper, but it has grown into something much more, thanks to a passion close to my heart: dance!
Celebrating Dance Through Art
Growing up, I danced at the Dallas Ballet Center, so returning to share my sculptures and ornaments at their Nutcracker performances is a full-circle moment. I’m grateful for the opportunity to offer my work alongside the performances, where my sculptures and ornaments bring an extra touch of joy to the Nutcracker experience.
This project is a labor of love - a tribute to dancers and those who support them. It’s my way of capturing the magic of ballet, and honoring the artistry of dance. While my main focus remains cut paper art, these free-standing, laser-cut wooden sculptures are a unique departure, inspired by my drawings of each Nutcracker character. They offer a fresh way to bring these beloved roles to life, through a style that blends detail with elegant minimalism.
Most importantly, this journey into ballet is one of the steps that led me to know the Lord, and it is through Him that I am able to create. I pray that His glory is reflected in everything I do!
